Multi-Million Pound E-Border System 'Terminated'
A multi-million pound programme designed to collect passenger information on every person arriving or leaving the UK has been "terminated in its current form".
The E-borders programme collected advance passenger information on all scheduled flights arriving and leaving the UK, with the information collated on a single database.
MPs have been told by UK Border Force, Sir Charles Montgomery, that the programme has now been "terminated".
However, the Home Office has said that nothing has changed with the system but the name, with the programme "absorbed" into a new Border Systems Procurement exercise.
