British Soldier Dies In Afghanistan

Adam Moralee is the first British soldier to die in Afghanistan this year.

He died after being injured in Camp Bastion on Wednesday while he was preparing equipment to be flown to the country.

The 23-year-old, from Newcastle upon Tyne belonged to the 32 Engineer Regiment, and joined the Royal Engineers at 17.

The young soldier leaves behind parents Lynn and Darren and his fiancee Emma.

Lance Corporal Karl Crosbie, from 4 Troop, 26 Armoured Engineer Squadron, 32 Engineer Regiment, said: "From the outset, it was clear that I had met a truly caring best friend and brother who would have done anything for me.

"Such was our friendship that he asked me to be his best man for his wedding to his fiancee Emma. I was deeply honoured. We were very much like brothers and I will miss him very much."

British Soldier Killed In Afghanistan Named
The Ministry of Defence has named a British soldier killed in Afghanistan on Monday. Lance Corporal Ivano Violino, 29, of the 20 Field Squadron, 36 Engineer Regiment in southern Afghanistan was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in was caught in an explosion near Gereshk in the Helmand province in the south of the country.

British Soldier Dies In 'Enemy Fire' In Afghanistan
Another British soldier had been killed in southern Afghanistan, it has been confirmed by the Ministry of Defence. The soldier, from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, attached to the 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment, died on Thursday, after coming under fire while on routine patrol.

MoD names soldier killed in Iraq
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the name of a British soldier killed in a bomb explosion in Iraq on Sunday. Major Matthew Bacon, 34, from the London area, was travelling in an armoured landrover in Basra, southern Iraq, when a roadside bomb exploded, hitting the vehicle.
