Hotel Closes Over Right-Wing Threats
Legoland has closed its Windsor hotel for the weekend after threats to its staff and visitors.
The threats began when the hotel was reserved to celebrate a Muslim family fun day which more than 4,000 people would attend.
The Muslim Research And Development Foundation (MRDF) organised the private event, however threats from far-right groups forced the event to be cancelled on February 24.
The hotel is to close for the weekend and is due to reopen to the public for the 2014 season on March 14.
A Legoland spokeswoman said: "The safety and security of our guests and our members of staff has to be our number one priority, which is why we’ve made the difficult decision to close the hotel."
Thames Valley Police launched and inquiry and said that abusive and threatening messages would not be tolerated.
