Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Murder

Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Nikki Allan in October 1992.

Seven-year-old Nikki allan was found dead on 8th October, in a derelict Old Exchange Building, close to her home at Wear Garth in Sunderland.

The investigation into her heath has been ongoing.

The 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

43-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With 1992 Murder
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 7-year-old girl in October 1992. Nikki Allan died more than 21 years ago having suffered 37 stab wounds. Her body was found in the then-derelict Old Exchange Building in Sunderland, not far from her home in Wear Garth.

Peterborough Torso Identified By Police
Police investigating the discovery of a female torso in a suitcase at a property in Peterborough have identified the victim. The torso has been identified as Ramute Butkiene, a 42-year-old Lithuanian woman, who worked as an agency worker in the Peterborough area.

Double Murder Suspect Arrested
Following the arrest on Sunday morning of double murder suspect James Allen police have appealed for people to check on any friends and relatives who could have come into contact him. Detectives made the appeal after 36-year-old Allen was arrested early on Sunday after being spotted by an off-duty officer on his way to work in Leeds.

Man Arrested Over Nightclub Car Crash
A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a stolen car was deliberately driven into a group of people outside a nightclub. The Saab car mounted the pavement on Packer Street, outside the Dali Bar, injuring a total of fourteen people. Three people remain in hospital. The incident took place at 2.10am on Sunday in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Liverpool fan jailed for attempted murder
A Liverpool fan has been sentenced to 15 years in Bulgaria for the attempted murder of a barman, despite another man apparently confessing to the attack. Eighteen-year-old Michael Shields was found guilty of attacking barman Martin Georgiev, 25, by throwing a brick at his head in a takeaway in Varna on May 30.
