French Police Arrest Man Over Alps Murder Of British Family
A man has been arrested by French police in connection with the murder of a British family in the Alps in 2012.
The 48-year-old man from the Haute-Savoie region is being held in formal custody, French police have said.
It is understood that the man was arrested following the publication of an identikit image released in November. The image was of a man on a motorcycle who had been seen near the car park where the victims where found.
Saad al-Hili was found dead in his BMW car along with his wife Iqbal, her mother and a cyclist.
The couple's two young daughters survived the attack.
The family had been holiday when they were murdered.

Following the arrest on Sunday morning of double murder suspect James Allen police have appealed for people to check on any friends and relatives who could have come into contact him. Detectives made the appeal after 36-year-old Allen was arrested early on Sunday after being spotted by an off-duty officer on his way to work in Leeds.
