Poundland To Get LSE Floatation

The high street discount store Poundland is to float on the London Stock Exchange.

It is understood that shares in the company are to be offered to institutional investors but it is not yet known how much Poundland hope to make in the sale.

Seventy six percent of the company's 530 stores in owned by Warburg Pincus, a private equity investment firm, with the remaining 24% owned by senior management.

In 2013 the company's revenue rose to £880.5 million, up from 641.5m in 2011.

Poundland To Buy 99p Stores For £55m
Poundland is to buy 99p stores for £55m, subject to approval by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). It has offered a cash consideration of £47.5m and is also proposing the issue of new Poundland Shares with a value of £7.5m. The company would take ownership of 251 stores, trading as 99p stores or Family Bargains.

The Prime Ministr is under increasing pressure to set up an independent Leveson-style inquiry into the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal. Labour leader Ed Miliband said an inquiry was needed to investigate what happened, not just at the BBC but also at the hospitals and schools where he allegedly preyed on vulnerable children and young women.

Staff At North Wales Bus Company Find Company Ceases Overnight
Employees of Western Greyhound in Cornwall have arrived at work this morning to find the company has ceased trading. According to a report by the BBC, around 40 staff arrived for work on Friday morning and found the depot closed.

Dixons to close 106 stores in UK
Dixons Group have confirmed that they are to close 106 stores over the next three months, due to disappointing sales. Around 1000 jobs will be affected by the closure, but Dixons are hoping to move a significant number of the employees to other stores.

Protesters Maintain Overnight Presence In Sussex
An all night protest has been held in a Sussex village over exploratory oil drilling, after permission was granted for a 3,000ft well and 2,500ft horizontal bore. Around 25 protesters formed a chain at the site near Balcombe overnight, according to the BBC.
