City Regulator Fines Homeserve Over £30m
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a fine of £30.6m against Homeserve, the maintenance company, over historical sales problems.
The City regulator has issued the fine following an 18-month investigation into sales techniques used on elderly people and how the company handled their complaints procedure.
The FCA found that the company had "serious, systemic and long-running failings, extending across many key aspects of its business".
The fine is the largest handed down by the FCA to date.

FCA Fines CSI And YBS For Failing To Ensure Financial Promotions
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has today fined both Credit Suisse International (CSI) and Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) for failing to ensure financial promotions for CSI's Cliquet Product1 were clear, fair and not misleading. CSI was fined £2,398,100 and YBS's fine was £1,429,000.

Lloyds Banking Group has been fined a record £28m for "serious failings" in relation to its bonus schemes for sales staff. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which issued the fine, said it is the largest fine it or the former Financial Services Authority (FSA) had imposed for retail conduct failings.

Ofwat Fines Thames Water For Misreporting Information
Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority, has fined Thames Water 0.7% of its turnover of £9.7 million for misreporting information and delivering poor service to customers. Ofwat is now publishing final notices penalising the company, after proposing to fine the company last September.
