Former TV Weatherman Charged With Sexual Offences
Former TV weather presenter Fred Talbot has appeared in court to face nine charges of indecent assault and one of serious sexual assault between 1968 and 1983.
The 64-year-old ex-teacher best known as the weatherman for ITV's This Morning programme, is accused of abusing five schoolchildren.
Six charges of indecent assault relate to one alleged victim at Elgin High in Newcastle where Talbot had been a teacher. The other charges relate to four victims at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys.
It is understood that he spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth and will appear in court again on 4 March.

Veteran broadcaster Stuart Hall, 83, has appeared in court charged with 15 offences of rape relating to two girls. He also faces charges of indecent assault. Hall is currently serving a 30-month jail term for sexually abusing 13 victims over a period of 20 years. He appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court to face the charges.

Man Denies 17 Child Abuse Charges
A Milford Haven man has gone on trial accused of 17 counts of sexually assaulting three young people. Sixty-three year-old Michael McGuire of Greville Road has pleaded not guilty to the charges which relate to two girls and a boy and date back as far as the early 1980s.
