Driver Jailed For Killing A Police Officer
The driver who killed police officer Andy Duncan has been sentenced to eight and a half years in jail.
Gary Bromige From South Norwood was driving over 80mph in Reigate Avenue in Sutton knocked down PC Duncan on Friday 20th September.
Bromige was going with four friends to a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop when the officer tried to stopped him. Bromige ran PC Duncan down in his black Volkswagen Golf and left the father-of-two with fatal injures.
He drove away from the scene and abandoned the car.
The court heard Bromige rang his father and told him what he had done. His father told him to hand himself in, which he did that day, according to Sky News. He pleaded guilty in December to causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while uninsured, causing death while unlicensed, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.
