JobCentre Plus Helps Young People Step On The Career Ladder
Young people have got their foot on the career ladder with YouTube, Disney and Google through working with their local Jobcentre Plus (JCP) adviser, Minister for Employment Esther McVey has announced.
Jobcentre Plus advisers work closely with bosses across the country to make sure young people have the skills and work experience they need to get the job they want – and have started work in places such as the National Portrait Gallery, Google and YouTube.
Minister McVey will be raising the profile of the unique range of jobs available through working with Jobcentre Plus at the launch of the next phase of the government’s flagship New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) with celebrity Enterprise Ambassador Levi Roots at the Jobcentre Plus ‘Office of the Future’ in London Bridge today.
Minister McVey said: "Many people might be surprised at just how many jobs from emerging and creative industries there are that young people can get into through working with their local Jobcentre Plus adviser.
"Working together with business to create jobs and support young people get into work are central to the government’s long-term economic plan to build a stronger, more competitive economy."
