IPCC To Investigate Officers In Hamzah Khan Case

Officers involved in the case of a boy found starved to death are to be investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The police watchdog is to investigate what action police took following allegations of neglect were made to West Yorkshire Police before the discovery of the body of four-year-old Hamzah Khan in 2011.

Hamzah's body was found in his cot at his home in Bradford. It was later established that he had been dead for almost two years before being discovered.

His mother, Amanda Hutton, was jailed in October for manslaughter.

The IPCC have said that they will look at what action police took after receiving complaints regarding Hutton.

It is understood that police had visited the Bradford on a number of occasions before Hamzah's death. However they were satisfied with the condition of the children and the home.
