Independent Scotland To Provide Post-Study Visas
An independent Scotland would provide a post-study work visa to encourage graduates to stay in the country, according to Scottish Finance Secretary John Swinney.
The visa plans would allow recent graduates to stay in the country to work or set up a business.
Mr Swinney said: "There are more than 30,000 international students from every corner of the world studying in Scotland, bringing important investment, diversity and welcome expertise.
"It is estimated that every 1,000 additional graduates working in Scotland could boost the economy by £10m and support around 200 jobs.
"We should be encouraging more talented people from around the world to further their education in Scotland, providing income for our education institutions and contributing to the local economy and community diversity."
