All Helicopter Crash Victims Named

Police in Scotland have released the final four names of those who died in a helicopter crash in Glasgow on Friday night.

They are Robert Jenkins, 61, Mark O'Prey, 44, Colin Gibson, 33 and John McGarrigle, 57.

All nine people who died when a police helicopter crashed into the city's The Clutha pub have now been identified. The final names come after police said no further bodies had been found during the final phase of a recovery operation at the scene.

On Sunday, the first names of the victims were released. Three of those were the helicopter crew and were pilot David Traille, 51, and Police Constables Kirsty Nelis, 36, and Tony Collins, 43. The other victim was pub-goer Gary Arthur, 48. Samuel McGhee, aged 56, from Glasgow was named as the fifth victim on Monday morning.

In a statement, Deputy Chief Constable Rose Fitzpatrick said: "Our thoughts first and foremost are with the families and friends of all those who have died.

"As our investigation continues we will of course go on providing support to the families involved."

She added that the recovery operation had been "difficult and complex" and had involved "painstaking work and the skills of specialist personnel from across the emergency services".

Earlier, families waiting on news about the recovery operation expressed their frustration as they said they were not being kept informed as to what was happening.

A further 32 people were injured in Friday's crash. Eleven of them still remain in hospital, with three in a serious condition.
