Six Arrested In Match-Fixing Investigation

Officers from the National Crime Agency have arrested six men in connection with alleged football match fixing.

It is understood that three footballers are among those detained, but they are not connected with any professional clubs.

The NCA, which was launched this year to target serious and organised crime, say that the focus of their investigation was a suspected international illegal betting syndicate.

No further details of the arrests have been made available as the investigation is ongoing, the NCA added.
