Police Appeal For Witnesses After Three Teenagers Die In Road Crash

Police in East Lothian have reported the deaths of three teenagers in a road crash.

According to reports an 18-year-old woman and two males, aged 15 and 16, were fatally injured when the car they were travelling in hit a wall at Tyninghame at around 20:25 on Monday.

Another 16-year-old male is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Officer To Be Charged Over 'Plebgate'

A charge of misconduct is to brought against a police officer over the "Plebgate" row.

PC Keith Wallis is accused of falsely claiming to have witnessed the incident in an email to his MP.

The CPS said it had decided to charge PC Wallis over the allegation he falsely claimed to have witnessed the incident in an email to deputy chief whip, John Randall who was his MP.

PC Wallis has been charged and is required to attend Westminster Magistrates' Court on 16 December 2013.

Veteran Entertainer Stan Stennett Dies Aged 88

Veteran entertainer Stan Stennett has died aged 88.

The stage and television actor spent more than 60 in the entertainment business, appearing in Crossroads and Coronation Street.

Mr Stennett's son Ceri confirmed his father had died at the University Hospital of Wales during the night.

He had had a stroke about three weeks ago and suffered complications.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To 'Horrific Attack' In Glasgow
An investigation into a "horrific attack" in Glasgow last week has been upgraded to a murder inquiry following the death of Stephen McGinlay. Mr McGinlay (26) was attacked by three men on St George's Road in Glasgow at about 17:50 on Thursday 02 October. He died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Sunday.

Man In Court Over Prison Van Escape
A 31-year-old man has appeared in court in Manchester charged with escaping lawful custody, following an incident when a prison van was ambushed in Salford. Three masked me ambushed the prison van as it made its way to court on April 30. Stevie McMullen, from Salford, and a second man, 20-year-old Ryan McDonald escaped from the van.

No Police Action After Nigella Drug Admission
No further police action is to be taken against Nigella Lawson after she admitted to using drugs. The TV presenter had given the admission during testimony at the fraud trial of her personal assistants. She had admitted taking cocaine while denying being an addict.
