Devon Coast Wind Farm Shelved

Plans for a 240-turbine wind farm off the north Devon coast have been scrapped.

It is understood that the developer behind the plans, RWE Innogy, has shelved their proposed Atlantic Array project.

The scheme, which had not yet received planning permission, had been the target for criticism by enviromentalists, who raised concerns over the impact the farm would have on wildlife in the Bristol Channel.

It is understood that RWE Innogy said that it was "not the right time" for the project.
