UK Missing Persons Bureau Calls For Europe-Wide Database
The UK Missing Person Bureau has called for the establishment of a Europe-wide database of unidentified bodies, arguing that it would help families searching for missing relatives.
Last year the bureau launched its own website listing images and distinguishing features of around 500 unidentified bodies from across the UK, understood to be around a third of the total number of bodies.
According to the bureau four missing people have been identified to date using the sites information.
Joe Apps told BBC News that while the website was useful, a wider goegraphical pool of unidentified remains was needed.
