Welsh Govt To Be Given Financial Powers
The Prime Minister has announced new financial powers are to be given to the devolved administration in Wales.
David Cameron and deputy PM Nick Clegg made the announcement at a conference in Cardiff Bay.
The new powers will include the control of stamp duty paid by house buyers, powers to finance upgrades on the M4 and, pending a referendum, some control over income tax.
The announcement follows a report published last year, recommending that the Welsh government be responsible for raising some of the money it spends.
