Old Bailey Evacuated Over Suspect Package

A suspect package found in a courtroom has lead to the evacuation of the Old Bailey in London.

According to report a package was found in court 11, where Ukrainian student Pavlo Lapshyn was being sentenced for murder and plotting to cause mosque explosions.

Parts of the roads around the court have been closed between Holborn Circus and the Holborn Viaduct.

It is understood that a man has been detained by the City of London Police.

The situation is ongoing.

Suspect package found at Tesco store
A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspect package found in a Tesco store in Bristol. Police were called to the store in the Eastville area of the city around 7:45am on Monday morning after the package was discovered. Bomb disposal experts were called and the package was blown up around 11:15am.

Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale have been found guilty of murdering soldier Lee Rigby. Fusilier Rigby was killed as he made his way back to Woolwich barracks in south-east London on 22 May. The soldier was struck by a car before being dragged into the road and attacked with knives and a meat cleaver.

Edinburgh Airports Closes After A Suspect Package Is Found
Edinburgh Airport has been evacuated after a suspect package was discovered. A bomb disposal team is currently at the scene and a passenger is being questioned. The incident occurred at approximately 2pm today. Edinburgh Airport said an investigation is underway and all flights have been leaving from the airport have been cancelled.

A 46-year-old man has been found guilty of the 1993 murder of teenager Claire Tiltman. Ms Tiltman was found dead in an alleyway in Greenhithe. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Convicted Child Abuser Jailed For 'Allowing' Baby Death
A convicted child abuser has today been jailed for two years and three months for doing nothing to stop his ex-partner's "horrific" cruelty against her son. Paul Husband, 33, from Newham, east London, was found guilty of neglect in relation to the death of two-month-old Rhys Biggs.
