Savile Chauffeur Arrested On Further Abuse Allegations

Fresh allegations of historical sex abuse have been made against the former flatmate and chauffeur of Jimmy Savile, Ray Teret.

On Wednesday, 71-year-old Teret was arrested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) when he answered bail in relation to a separate set of allegations.

It is understood that the allegations are not linked to the national investigation into alleged abuse by Savile.

A GMP spokeswoman said: "A 71 year-old-man was re-arrested in connection with historic sexual offences against children when he answered his bail.

"He was also further arrested in connection with a number of other historic sex offences against children."
