Home Office Not To Extend 'Go Home' Advertising Van

The Home Office has ruled out extending its controversial "go home" advertising vans to the rest of the UK.

It is understood that while the initial trial of the vans, which encouraged illegal immigrants to contact border control about "going home", is still being evaluated, the Home Office is not "convinced by the results" and have decided to not extend the scheme.

The controversial vans were criticised by politicians as well as the Advertising Standards Authority, who said that the arrest statistics used on the advertising was "misleading", although the watchdog cleared the campaign of being offensive and irresponsible.
