Npower Announce 10.4% Price Hike

Npower are to increase dual-fuel bills by 10.4%, making them the third major energy company to announce a price hike.

The energy firms price increase is the largest announced to date and will come into effect on December 01.

The dual-fuel increase includes an electricity price rise of 9.3% and a gas price rise of 11.1%, and will affect some 3.1 million customers.

It is understood that the increase will add £137 to the average annual bill.

As previously announced SSE will implement an 8.2% increase from November 15 and British Gas will increase their prices by 9.2% from November 23.

EDF Latest Energy Company To Announce Price Increase
EDF Energy is to impose a 3.9% increase on its gas and electricity prices, making them the latest of the big six energy companies to announce a price rise. From January 03, the company's new average standard variable price will increase by £49 to £1,300 a year. The company add that its increase is "half" that of its rivals.

The average annual household fuel bill in the UK is set to increase by around £123 when British gas introduce a 9.2% rise in dual-fuel bills from November 23. SSE Announce Price Cuts

E.ON Announces Price Hike
E.ON has announced a price rise that will see bills increase by an average of 3.7% in 2014. The increase, which will take effect on 18 January 2014, is expected to add £48 a year to the average dual fuel bill.
