'Arrogant' Savile Police Interview Condemned

A 2009 police interview with Jimmy Savile, in which he repeatedly denies abusing young girls, has been condemned by victims' groups.

Commenting on the interview the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac) said that Savile is not only arrogant, but is clearly "running rings around the police".

Napac went on to call for a Royal Commission into how children are looked after and protected in Britian.

According to reports, the NSPCC also said of the Savile scandal that it hoped it had changed the way abuse was dealt with.

In one section of the 2009 interview Savile boasts of receiving "police protection" from allegations of abuse.
