Murder Investigation Launched After Shop Owner Pushed In Front Of Lorry
A murder investigation is underway after a shop owner was killed in east London when he was pushed in front a lorry.
According to police Shammi Atwal was pushed into the road in front of an oncoming lorry after chasing robbers from his shop in Barking.
It is understood that up to 10 men armed with metal bars entered the Glen & Co Cash & Carry on Monday morning.
It is believed that Mr Atwai defended his wife from the robbers before chasing them out of his premises.
Police urged any witnesses to contact them. The suspects are described as white males.

High Street Shop Closures Slow Slightly
The rate of high street shop closures has slowed slighted, according to a study. In the first half of the year, some 18 shops closed each day in town centres, down from 20 per day for the same period last year. Overall, 209 shops closed in the first half of the year, compared with 953 for the same period last year.

NHS recruitment drive to focus on over 50s
A new nationwide drive to recruit NHS staff, which will focus for the first time on the over 50s, has been was launched today. NHS Job Shop Day comprises of 220 events taking place around the country on or around 23 September. Around 150 Jobcentres across England will also be holding special NHS events on 23 September as part of NHS Job Shop Day.

Woman Killed On Carriageway May Have Been 'Forcibly Pushed'
A woman who was killed on the A47 Terrington St John may have been "forcibly pushed", according to police. The woman, who has not been named, was killed after she was struck by a silver Kia in Norfolk on Sunday afternoon. A male pedestrian was also killed in the collision.

G20 Victim 'Had Been Pushed By Police'
A man who died of a heart attack during the G20 summit protests, had been pushed to the ground by a police officer, new video footage released has shown. A video obtained by the Guardian newspaper shows Ian Tomlinson, who was not protesting, walking away from a group of police officers with his hands in his pockets.
