Thieves Rob Aviary Of 400 Budgies
An aviary in Hampshire has been robbed of more than 400 budgies with an estimated value of £60,000.
According to police thieves cut wires to security lights before breaking into the aviary sometime between 22:00 on Sunday and 04:45 on Monday.
The thieves took the birds away in special transportation cages, most likely making their escape via a golf course that runs behind the property.
It is understood that a 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the burglary but police are continuing to search for others involved.
None of the birds have yet been recovered.

No charges over bird flu outbreak
Bernard Matthews will not face charges over the outbreak of bird flu at one of its plants, the Food Standards Agency has announced. Following an investigation, the FSA said that there was no evidence that food waste at the site in Holton, Suffolk, had been stored inappropriately.

Warning After Thieves Target Tourists In Edinburgh
Police Scotland have issued a warning to the public to remain vigilant after a group of thieves have been posing as police officers in an attempt to steal cash from tourists in Edinburgh. The incidents have been reported in the last few days, at Princes Street, St Andrews Square and Johnstone Terrace.

Three Held Over Jewel Raid
Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a jewel raid carried out on jewellers inside London's Westfield Shopping Mall. Three males, aged 15, 17 and 18, were arrested in Camden, north London. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the gang escaped in three cars, one of which was followed by police, before officers lost sight of it.

Thieves in London have made-off with jewellery worth tens of thousands of pounds. It involved a 'smash and grab' style robber involving a gang of up to 10 people who targeted a jewellers at Europe's largest urban shopping mall, in west London, during the early hours.
