M5 Shutdown After Lorry Overturns

The M5 motorway has been shutdown after a lorry overturned and spilt its load and diesel across the road.

According to reports the lorry, carry pallets of paper, struck the central reservation at around 07:00 this morning causing the closure.

The driver suffered head injuries in the incident and is being treated at Frenchay Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

According to reports a clean up operation is underway, and part of the road has been reopened, delays are expected to continue.

The Highways Agency has said that part of the M5 will need to be resurfaced.

Man Killed Killed By Lorry On M5
Avon and Somerset Police have reported the death of a man on the M5 near Taunton. It is understood the man, aged in his late 50s, was driving a lorry which had hit the central reservation on the northbound carriageway near Taunton Deane services. The man is said that have gotten out of the cab of his lorry and was hit by another passing lorry.

Man Killed By Lorry After Fall From Road Bridge
One lane of the M62 in Cheshire remains closed after a man died when he fell from a bridge and was hit by a lorry. The victim is said to be a 30-year-old man from Warrington, according to Cheshire Police. The incident happened at around 2.45am on Wednesday. Two lanes of the motorway were reopened at around 8.

Lorry Spills £1,500 Cash Across Road In Swindon
A road was forced to closed in Swindon on Thursday after a lorry carrying money scattered approximately £1,500 in cash across a carriageway. The incident occurred after 1:30pm in Mead Way. Police were called to the scene and closed the northbound road from Mead roundabout. The money was cleared from the road. It is understood no one was injured.

Police Find Woman And Children In Refrigerated Lorry
Police in Bristol have discovered a woman and two children in the back of a refrigerated lorry. Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of the lorry reported hearing voices from inside the lorry. Police believe the woman and children were in the back of the lorry for two days before being discovered.

Woman Dies After M5 Crash
A woman who was injured in a multiple vehicle collision on the M5 in Devon has died in hospital. Oxana Tukova, a 21-year-old Russian national, was one of seven people injured in the eight-vehicle collision,which happened near Junction 28 at Cullompton around 9pm on August 26.
