BBC To Cut 75 News Jobs
Seventy five more jobs are to be cut by the BBC in the latest round of its Delivery Quality First cost saving initiative.
The posts will be cut from news across the English regions.
BBC news staff were informed of the job loses today by James Harding, the new BBC director of news and current affairs.
The BBC launched its Delivering Quality First initiative in 2011 in an effort to save £700 million across the corporation and reduce staffing levels by 600 by 2016/17.

Newspapers could be facing an online revolution as the BBC is planning to open up its website on www.bbc.co.uk to other news organisation. The broadcaster's online news section may soon allow its own (free) users to see the major stories covered by the UK newspaper sites.

BBC To Axe 2,500 Jobs
The BBC has announced plans to axe 2,500 jobs by 2012. Nearly 400 posts are expected to go in the BBC's news operations, more than 600 in factual programming. However, around 700 new jobs are expected to be created. The BBC will also sell off its flagship Television Centre in west London, under plans to save £2 billion.

The BBC Trust has launched its service review of BBC Parliament and BBC News Channel, as part of its rolling programme of service reviews. The review will look at the current performance of BBC Parliament and the News Channel - including the stations' quality, distinctiveness and value for money - and the BBC's future plans for the services.
