Convicted Paedophile Loses Legal Challenge Over Bank Details

A convicted paedophile has lost a legal challenge in the High Court over rules requiring him to disclose bank details to police.

A man jailed for child sex offences had challenged recently-introduced rules, that require convicted sex offenders to reveal details of bank accounts and credit cards, saying that they breached his right to a private life.

However, the High Court ruled that the measures were a "very valuable" practical and proportionate means of providing further protection of potential victims.
