EDL Leader To Be Charged Over Weekend March
Tommy Robinson, leader of the English Defence League, has been charged in connection with a march in east London on Saturday.
Some 500 EDL supporters marched from Queen Elizabeth Street to Aldgate on Saturday afternoon.
In total, 300 people were arrested, 286 of which were from a counter demonstration against the EDL march.
Robinson is charged with not adhering to the conditions of the march and inciting others to do the same.
He has been bailed and will appear in a magistrates court on 22 October.

The Criminal Justice System Statistics Quarterly shows that sex offenders are now sentenced on average to more than five years in prison – an increase of 4.5 months in the past year alone.

New data has revealed there was a surge in online shopping in the run up to the Christmas period. The survey, published by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), said that an increasing use of tablets and smartphones, as well as fast delivery times added to the sharp rise in online shopping before Christmas.

Police numbers reach record levels
Police numbers in England and Wales have reached record high levels of more than 141,000, the Home Office has reported. The number of police officers has increased by more than 2,000 since March 2004 to 141,230.

Anti-Islamic Group Plans Demo
A right-wing group will march against 'Islamic fundamentalists' in Manchester this weekend. The English Defence League (EDL), which insists it is not linked to the British National Party, will stage a demonstration in the city centre on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police said it has been contacted by organisers of the protest.
