16-Month-Old Girl Falls From Fifth-Floor Flat
A 16-month-old baby girl is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after falling from a fifth-floor flat in Devon.
The accident happened at around 8.30am on Saturday morning at a block of flats on Savage Road, Barne Barton.
The circumstances surround the fall are not yet known, but police say the girl fell some 100ft (30m) and is being treated at Derriford Hospital for internal injuries.

UK Unemployment Falls
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that unemployment in the UK now stands at 5.7%, having fallen by 97,000 in the three months to December. This means the number of adults now in work stands at 73.2%. The figures also show an increase in average earnings with bonuses, up 2.1% compared to a year earlier.

Baby Charlotte ruling lifted
The parents of severely brain-damaged baby, Charlotte Wyatt, have won the right for her to be resuscitated if she falls ill. Mr Justice Hedley reversed the previous decision, which allowed doctors not to resuscitate Charlotte if she stopped breathing, at the High Court on Friday. The decision coincides with Charlotte’s second birthday.

An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.
