Former NotW Journalist Charged Over Phone Hacking

A former News of the World journalist is to be charged over four alleged offences as part of the ongoing investigation into the phone hacking scandal.

Dan Evans faces two counts of conspiring to intercept the voicemail of "well-known people and their associates", the Crown Prosecution Service has said.

The charges date between 2003 and 2010.

His third charge is of attempting to pervert the course of justice by making a false statement between 2009 and 2010.

And his fourth relates to the Operation Elveden investigation, which looks at illicit payments by journalists to police and other public officials.

Mr Evans will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
