Wolves secure Premiership promotion spot
Wolverhampton Wanderers were back among English football's elite today following their Division 1 play-off final triumph against Sheffield United in Cardiff.
Dave Jones's men ended their 19-year exile from the top flight with a 3-0 win at the Millennium Stadium.
Mark Kennedy, Nathan Blake and Kenny Miller were the heroes for Wolves in a game which is sure to bring a smile to the face of chairman Sir Jack Hayward, who has ploughed £50 million into his beloved club over the past few years.
He will surely recoup some of that money through advance ticket sales and TV money which could raise around £15-20 million next season.
For Sheffield United it will be a season forever remembered for near misses. Not only have they missed out on a return to the Premiership but also appearances in the semi-final of both the Worthington Cup and FA Cup - where they were narrowly edged out by eventual winners Arsenal.
But it is Wolves who will face the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool next season and a chance to relive the glory years that have not been seen in Molineux since the 1950's.
