Missing Erika Found 'Safe And Well'
A 13-year-old teenager who went missing from her home in Sheffield a week ago, has been found "safe and well" in Bradford.
Erika Kacicova was discovered on her own in Centenary Square in Bradford city centre around 6.40pm on Monday (12 August). The girl's family was informed and she was in the care of police officers.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed five people – four men and one woman – and all from Bradford were being held on suspicion of child abduction. Two of the men, aged 41 and 37, were arrested early on Monday, and details of the other two men and the woman have not been disclosed. It brings the total number of people arrested in connection with the investigation to six, as a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of child abduction after he handed himself in to police last Friday. He has since been bailed.
Detective Inspector Helen Tate said: "It's fantastic news that we now have Erika, safe and well and a successful conclusion to the search for Erika.
"Our primary aim now is to concentrate on Erika's wellbeing and begin to piece together her movements since she left home last Monday.
"We are working with local authority and partner agencies for the appropriate support for Erika and to assist with the investigation.
"I have personally been overwhelmed by the way the public and the media have responded to our appeals and I am extremely grateful for their help and support throughout this investigation."
Earlier, detectives said Erika's family had been "distraught" and her younger brother and sister had been "missing her terribly".
