Man Claims Prostitute Was Showing Him Where To Buy Tomatoes
A man has claimed that a prostitute was in his car as she was showing him where to buy tomatoes.
According to West Midlands Police, Muhammad Ikhlaq was at a cash machine withdrawing £20 when officers found the woman, a known sex worker, sitting in his car, he claimed the money was to buy tomatoes with.
Ikhlaq, 39, of New Street, Dudley, was found guilty of soliciting and fined £400 at Walsall Magistrates' Court.
Council Seeks To 'Halt' Naked Events
Tendring District Council want to ban all future naked events, claiming that such events are damaging the area's image.
A naked swim and naked bike ride where both held on Clacton's West Beach in recent weeks.
Leader of the Conservative-run council Peter Halliday said: "I feel there must be a way that we can say no."
Mr Halliday said he accepted the swim in June was for charity.
But he said: "Clacton is a traditional family seaside resort and in my opinion people riding around on bikes with no clothes on does nothing to enhance our image. In fact, it harms it.
"Tendring as a whole prides itself on being family friendly and we are in danger of having that spoilt with the type of events we have had to suffer over the past few weeks."
Nadie Dorries Repays Expenses Used For 'Family Reasons'
Tory MP Nadine Dorries has repaid £3,000 she claimed in travel expenses, after admitting the money was used for "family reasons" and not related to her job as an MP.
An investigation was launched earlier this year into Miss Dorries expenses claims following an "unusual pattern of claims".
Miss Dorries also today renewed her call for MPs’ expenses ‘to be scrapped in their entirety’.

IPSA To Investigate Dorries Expenses Claims
Expenses claims submitted by MP Nadine Dorries will be investigated by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA). The MP for faces an inquiry into her spending on accommodation and travel, with IPSA saying it had reason to believe she had received expenses "that should not have been allowed".

'Champagne Culture' Of A4e Revealed By Former Managers
Several former managers of A4e, the welfare-to-work company at the centre of fraud investigations, have told the Guardian newspaper the firm ‘has a culture of lavish trips abroad and big-spending hospitality.’ The company holds up to £180m worth of public contracts and all of its UK income comes from government contracts.

Expenses Accused Deny Charges
Four Parliamentarians have denied criminal charges relating to their expenses claims. Labour MPs Jim Devine, Elliot Morley, David Chaytor appeared in court today, alongside Tory peer Lord Hanningfield, accused of false accounting. The four men were given unconditional bail and are due to appear again at Southwark Crown Court on 30 March.

Lord Paul - a top Labour donor - will renounce his non domicile tax status in April, he said today. The peer said his 'non-dom' UK residency will end in the new tax year. The move follows revelations over billionaire Tory deputy chair Lord Ashcroft.

An investigation into parliamentary second home expenses has found UK MPs owe repayments of over £1.12m. Auditor Sir Thomas Legg recommended that 390 MPs - more than half of Commons members - should repay £1.3m of claims dating back to 2004. Some MPs have criticised Sir Thomas' handling of the review, branding it "sloppy".
