25-Year-Old Charged With Murder And Mosque Explosions
A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the "terrorist-realted" murder of an 82-year-old Muslim in Birmingham in April.
Ukranian Pavlo Lapshyn is also facing charges in connection with three explosions near mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton.
The postgraduate student, in the UK on a sponsored work placement at a software firm in Birmingham, is accused of stabbing Mahammed Sallem as he walked home from evening prayers at a mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham, on April 25.
He was arrested last week by officers investigating a reported explosion near a mosque.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

BBC defends suicide bomb plotline for 'Spooks'
The BBC has defended its decision to run a drama programme in which an Islamic suicide bomber was recruited at a fictional Birmingham mosque. Following the transmission of 'Spooks' on BBC THREE on June 2, vandals sprayed the words 'kill the suicide bombers' on a white outside wall of Central Birmingham Mosque in Belgrave Road.

Nine men and one woman have been arrested in a series of police raids across Birmingham, Solihull and Smethwick. Police carried out the raids early on Thursday morning making ten arrests on suspicion of conspiring to supply dangerous class A drugs like heroin and crack cocaine.

Rail Firm And Signalman Guilty In Signal Crossing Crash
Both Newtwork Rail and a railway signalman have been found guilty of failing to ensure the safety of a woman who was killed at a level crossing. Jane Harding, 52, died when the car she was in was hit by a train at Moreton-on-Lugg, Herefordshire, in 2010.
