Met Office Issues Yellow Warning Following Thunderstorms
The hottest day in the UK since 2006 has been followed by violent storms, with lightning strikes causing damage to property and disruption to train services.
The Met Office have now issued a "yellow warning" for most of the UK, with "widespread and energetic" thunderstorms and potential flooding being forecast.
Temperatures meanwhile are expected to remain above average despite the change in weather.
The public are urged to "be aware" of rain throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Met Office have said that heavy rainfall could lead to flooding as the ground will be hard-baked following the three week heatwave.
