Forecasters Say Thunderstorms Could Follow Heatwave
Weather forecasters have said that today (Monday) is likely to be the peak of the current heatwave, giving way to thunderstorms and potential flooding.
Following temperatures of 29C on Sunday in the South West, forecasters have said they could reach as high as 34C today in some parts of the country.
However, this will be followed by increased humidity between Monday and Wednesday, which could lead to storms and possible flooding.
Parts of the country will feel "a little tropical", forecasters said.
The Met Office has issued a rain warning for England, Wales and southern Scotland. The yellow alert is issued to put people on notice that there may be disruptive storms.
