Stansted Proposes Second Runway

The Airports Commission has received a submission from the owner of Stansted proposing a second runway and highlighting its potential to be biggest four-runway hub.

It is understood that Manchester Airport Group argue that Stansted offers the cheapest and least environmentally damaging option, should the government choose to focus on a single super-hub.

No formal plans have been put together for its possible expansion, but MAG estimate it would cost £10 billion to transform it into a super-hub airport.
