Progress Of Horsemeat Investigation Criticised
The pace of the investigation into the horsemeat scandal has been criticised by MPs.
Some six months after the initial reports of horse DNA being found in beef products being sold in supermarkets, police are still said to be investigating.
Critics of the pace of the investigation say that a report from an Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee found mislabeling of horse as beef had been "highly organised", that was backed up by "a network of criminality beyond belief".
Committee chair Anne McIntosh told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the delay in bring prosecutions was "staggering".
