Firefighters Still Tackling Recycling Plant Fire

Some 60 firefighters are continuing to tackle a blaze at a plastic recycling plant, which began on Sunday night.

Over 100,000 tonnes of plastic recycling material burned for two nights in a fire thought to have been caused by a Chinese lantern.

It is understood that £6m worth of damage has been caused to the recycling site in Dartmouth Road, West Midlands.

CCTV footage is alleged to show a Chinese lantern falling on to the site where the fire began.

It is believed that about 10% of the site is still burning and plant machinery is being used to break up bales of plastic to tackle the ongoing blaze.
