Murder of 84-Year-Old And Stabbing Of 9-Year-Old Connected
Five men are currently being held in connection with the death of an elderly woman and the stabbing of a nine-year-old boy.
The young boy was attacked on Monday afternoon at a skate park in Shipley, West Yorkshire, suffering injuries to his chest and arm.
While police made enquiries in the area about the attack on the boy, they discovered the body of an 84-year-old woman in the upstairs bedroom of her home in Prospect Park in the town just before midnight.
She had suffered 'numerous stab wounds'.
A 26-year-old man was arrested at around 04:00 following a member of the public responding to a police description released earlier in the day about the attack on the young boy. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
A second 26-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the number, and three other men, understood to be aged 18, 24 and 29, are being held in connection with the skate park attack.
The investigation continues.

Police Appeal For Missing 16-Year-Old
Police have appealed for help in tracing 16-year-old Joseph Ogun, who has been missing since Monday, 07 September. Police said they are "increasingly concerned" for his welfare. He is described as a black boy, 5ft 8ins tall, of large build and with dark cropped hair. It is not known what he was last seen wearing.

Baby Dies After Being Bitten By Family Pet
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a baby bitten by dog in Sunderland. The three-week-old baby boy died in hospital following an incident at his home in Falkland Road. Police were called to the address at 04:15 on Saturday, 20 June. It is understood that the baby had been bitten by the families pet dog.

Boy Dies After Falling Into River In Argyll
A 10-year-old boy has died after falling into a river in Argyll while on holiday with his family. Emergency services were called to the incident at 13:45 on Tuesday. The boy was rescued by a passer-by after getting into difficulties. He was airlifted to Glasgow for treatment, however he later died at Yorkhill Hospital.
