Man Arrested Over Historical Children's Homes Abuse

Officers attached to Operation Pallial, an independent investigation examining claims of historical child abuse at children's homes in north Wales, today arrested a man in Leicester on suspicion of a number of sexual assaults.

The assaults, on three boys, are alleged to have taken place between 1969 and 1984 when they were aged between 12 and 14 years old.

The 62-year-old man will be taken to a police station in Leicestershire, where he will be interviewed.

This is the second arrest conducted by Operation Pallial. The first took place on April 23 and the man, from Suffolk, was bailed until the end of July.
