Andy Coulson Appears In Court On Perjury Charge

Andy Coulson, former director of communications for David Cameron, has appeared in court charged perjury.

45-year-old Coulson had appeared before a private sitting of the Glasgow Sheriff Court last Thursday, after a contempt of court order was granted banning media coverage, according to the BBC.

However, a challenge of the order by a number of media organisations was accepted by Sheriff John McCormack, and the ban was lifted.

Mr Coulson did not enter a plea during last weeks hearing and was granted bail.
