Body In Morgue Showed 'Potential Signs Of Life'

An investigation has been launched after staff at a mortuary found “potential signs of life” while examining a body.

A man who had fallen from the Kessock Bridge, Inverness, on Friday was pronounced dead at the scene and an undertaker transported his body to the mortuary of Raigmore Hospital.

During routine checks mortuary staff became concerned that the man was showing “potential signs of life”.

However, the man was later pronounced dead for a second time.

The procurator fiscal and NHS Highland are now investigating the incident.
