18-Year-Old Jailed For Rape Of 11-Year-Old Schoolgirl
An 18-year-old man who raped an 11-year-old girl in a north London park, has been jailed for life, with a minimum term of eight years.
Opemipo Jaji, of Edmonton, denied the attack in Jubilee Park, Enfield, north London in November last year.
The jury had heard that Jaji had followed the girl off a bus as she made her way home from school. He was returning from seeing his probation officer. The young girl had crossed the road three times to try and avoid Jaji, then tried to run away, but Jaji grabbed her and took a secluded area of the park and subjected her a three hour ordeal.
Jaji had two previous convictions, one for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl a year before the rape and one for making indecent images of children.

Inquiry After 13-Year-Old Girl Raped
A police inquiry is underway into the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl, in an attack believed to have been carried out by a number of men. Five men have been arrested after the teenager was raped and forced to engage in other sex acts in the Hoveringham Park area of Harehills, Leeds, on Saturday night.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Raping 15-Year-Old
Police investigating the alleged rape of 15-year-old girl in a park in south-west London have made an arrest. It is understood police were called to Grove Park in Carshalton at about 20:30 on Saturday to reports of a rape. Officers investigating the incident have arrested a 26-year-old on suspicion of rape.

Couple Jailed For 18 Years For Trafficking And Rape Of Deaf Girl
A husband and wife have been jailed for a total of 18 years for the rape of a girl that they trafficked into the UK and kept as a servant in the basement of their home. A trial heard that 83-year-old Ilyas Ashar and his 68-year-old wife Tallat brought the victim, who is both deaf and mute, from Pakistan to the UK in 2000, when she was 10 years old.

A two-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in a north-west London supermarket car park. Police have appealed for witnesses. Metropolitan Police has said that the child was hit by a vehicle in the car park of Asda in Forty Lane, Wembley. She was treated by paramedics but later died in hospital.
