Man Jailed For Seven Years Over Baby's Death
A 24-year-old man has been jailed for seven years after he was convicted of violently shaking his four-week-old baby.
Benjamin Roach, of Plymouth, was unanimously convicted at Plymouth Crown Court of the manslaughter of Roxie-Jo Hopkins-Roach, who died in September 2010.
He had denied the charge.
According to the BBC the court heard that one of Roxie-Jo’s injuries was similar to what might be seen as a result of a road crash.
The trail also heard Roach may have shaken the baby before throwing her down hard on to a sofa or bed.
