Tia Sharp Accused Changes Plea To Guilty

Stuart Hazell, the man accused of killing schoolgirl Tia Sharp, has changed his plea to guilty on the fifth day of his trial.

The 37-year-old had denied charges of murder and sexual assault, claiming that Tia had died in an accident and panic had caused him to hide her body.

According to reports, Hazell said the girl’s family had “suffered enough”.

Tia Sharp’s body was found a week after her disappearance in August last year in her grandmothers house. Hazell had been Tia’s grandmothers partner.

Hazell is expected to be sentenced later today (Monday).
