Briton Takes Bali Death Sentence Appeal To Supreme Court
Briton, Lindsay Sandiford, has lodged an appeal with the Indonesian Supreme Court, over her conviction for drug smuggling.
The 56-year-old, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, faces death by a firing squad following her conviction for smuggling 10.6lb of cocaine.
Sandiford, who says she was coerced into carrying the drugs, has already lost one appeal at Bali's High Court who ruled her conviction "accurate and correct".
It is understood that should she lose at the Supreme Court, she can then seek a judicial review from the same court. However, beyond that only the country’s president can grant a reprieve.
