Liverpool Fine Suarez For Biting Ivanovic

Luis Suarez has been fined by Liverpool for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The 26-year-old bit Ivanovic's arm during his team's 2-2 draw against Chelsea .

However, asked if the incident would affect the player's time at the club, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "Not at all.

Ofcom Investigate BBC Over Boat Race Broadcast

An investigation has been launched into the BBC’s coverage of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race, after one of the cox used the “f**K”.

During the broadcast on Sunday 31 March Oxford cox Oskar Zorilla was heard to use the expletive as many as five times, prompting more than 200 complaints to the corporation.

BBC commentators apologised for Zorilla's language, but did not turn his microphone off or down.

Ofcom has launched an investigation into the BBC's broadcast to see whether it is in breach of the broadcasting code.

Animals Right Campaign Ad Ban Upheld

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled, by a narrow majority, that a UK ban on an advert by an animal rights group does not violate freedom of expression.

The case was brought by Animal Defenders International (ADI) who wanted to air an advert in 2005 entitled My Mate's a Primate, which showed a girl in chains in a chimpanzee's cage.

The ad was directed against the keeping and exhibition of primates in zoos and circuses and their use in television advertising.

The Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre refused to clear the advert, drawing attention to the political nature of ADI's objectives, which as such prohibited the broadcasting of the advert under section 321(2) of the Communications Act 2003.

The animal rights group lost its appeals in both the high court and the House of Lords before taking the case to the ECHR in Strasbourg.
