2,000 Strong Guest List For Baroness Thatcher Funeral
An initial guest list for Baroness Thatcher’s funeral next Wednesday has been released by Downing Street.
All surviving British prime ministers and US presidents, as well as a representative of the Reagan family, are on the 2,000 strong list.
It is understood that Ronald Reagan's widow Nancy is too frail to travel, and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev will also not be attending due to health problems, his spokesman has said.
Lady Thatcher's family drew up the guest list with the help of the government and the Conservative Party.
Invitations are expected to be set out on Friday.

Her spokesman, Lord Bell, said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning. Downing Street has denied reports that plans are being considered to give former Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher a state funeral. It had been reported that civil servants were drawing up plans to give Lady Thatcher, who was Prime Minister between 1979 and 1990, a state funeral.
